Aurora is a creative studio/store where tools of photography and film are acquired, experienced, and revered. Patrons may buy, borrow, or engage directly with cameras and Polaroid film, but every interaction follows strict, intentional procedures, from check-out to shooting to development. The building functions as a gallery, studio, and ceremonial space, exhibiting works created with its tools while also granting privileges, gifts, and access based on membership, skill, and rank. Items flow from The Manufacturer, the source of all creative instruments. The Manufacturer simply produces the tools, while Aurora distributes them, mediates human experience, and enforces ritual. They honor The Manufacturer; however, there is a disconnect in communication, and it’s one-sided. Within its walls, secret deals, ownership, and collabs are made with Perga, leading to coercion, pedophilia, abuse, and manipulation.
